When you are down in the dumps, how do you snap out of it?

Sometimes you may wake up and feel sad or down for no real reason; other times, it’s a sad movie or you hear bad news about a friend or family member and know exactly what caused your slump.

I curl up and hide away

preferably underneath my duvet, I let my sadness sweep over me until it’s history. (Yes, I’m a bit of a drama queen/king!)

I "hug it out"

I rely on close relationships for support and get hugs and comfort while I cry my eyes out. (And this usually involves a pint of ice cream.)

I become "Mr. Fix It"

I go deep inside my psyche or find out every fact that I can find, get to the bottom of it and work at making things better.

Ignore it

Sad news? What sad news? I don’t have time for sadness. I fake it until I make it and pretend I’m happy until I actually am.
